Im a type A when it comes to studying, so I wanted to use something concrete to prepare for NCLEX. I found that this book was good for practice questions, but not necessarily NCLEX prep. It missed some big areas (there is no pharmacology section in this book) and went too in-depth in others (500+ med-surg questions). It almost over-prepares you for content-based questions, while NCLEX tests you on mastery areas (Safety & Infection Control, Management of Care, etc.) which are not covered in this book. It was definitely good for content review, but if this had been the only thing I had used, I feel I would've missed a big chunk of necessary studying (the "thinking like a nurse" learning). I liked ATI and thought it prepared me all around better. It was provided by my school, but is also available for purchase on an individual basis. I did end up using both but ATI was more concise and I felt like I got more learning out of the time I put in. Sadly I had the previous edition and this too is full of errors. It will say that the practice exam is the maximum of questions on NCLEX and will be 80 questions. The rationales do not match up with the numerical answers. I will be returning!
